Bread Base
  • 1 loaf French bread or brioche cut into cubes
Strawberry Cream Cheese Layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup strawberries sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
Custard Mixture
  • 6 eggs
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Grease a baking dish and add half of the bread cubes as the base layer.
  2. Beat cream cheese with sugar until smooth, then spread or dollop over the bread layer.
  3. Add sliced strawberries evenly over the cream cheese layer, then top with remaining bread cubes.
  4. Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon together until well combined.
  5. Pour custard mixture evenly over the assembled bread layers, pressing lightly to soak.
  6. Cover and refrigerate overnight or at least 4–8 hours.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40–45 minutes until golden and set. Let cool slightly before serving.
